My Story - How it began?
Naturism, often misunderstood and stigmatized, represents a lifestyle centred on body positivity and a deep appreciation for nature. My journey began when my partner, an occasional naturist at the time, shared his personal experience with me. After the birth of my child, I longed for freedom and a way to be uninhibited to myself. I wanted respect for who I am. Embracing naturism transformed my life and led me to self-acceptance and love.
As a mother and corporate professional from a conservative background, the transition to naturism was challenging. However, with my husband's support and understanding, I gradually embraced the lifestyle. Struggling with body image issues and societal expectations, I yearned for a sense of freedom that my traditional life could not provide. In India, naturism is taboo and often associated with sexual activity. Despite the initial apprehension, my curiosity led me to take a leap of faith.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, my naturist journey began in the literal sense as my partner, Ray, and I started doing simple household tasks naked. We wanted to be indoor naturists following the naturist ideology. Be it Gardening, Cooking or Cleaning, each experience brought a sense of liberation and acceptance. Embracing my true self without the confines of fabric and societal judgment was a breakthrough for me. Over time, my perception of beauty and societal norms shifted dramatically. And everything made sense.
I learned to appreciate my body in its most natural form, recognizing that every imperfection was a part of my unique story. My newfound self-acceptance transformed not only my personal views but also my social life. Despite facing criticism and disconnecting from some friends and family, I believe the positives of naturism far outweigh the negatives.
In the future, I aim to participate in the naturist lifestyle and become an advocate. I plan to spread body positivity and create a community that promotes acceptance and understanding. While living a naturist life in a non-naturist country comes with its challenges, being true to myself is a source of strength and empowerment.
And this is just the beginning of my journey...
